Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Cubic (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides a Shopify application that enables merchants to generate interactive 3D models from product images.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, process, retain, and delete data in compliance with:

  • Shopify Partner Program Agreement
  • Shopify API License and Terms of Use
  • Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR)

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Merchant Data

  • Shop URL (store domain)
  • Product images voluntarily submitted for 3D model generation
  • Transactions performed within the Cubic application, including credit purchases and credit usage

We do not collect or access Shopify store order history, Shopify payment records, or merchant financial transaction history outside of transactions that occur directly within the Cubic application.

2.2 Customer Data (Processed on Merchant's Behalf)

  • Interaction data required to display 3D models
  • Basic technical device and browser information required solely for rendering purposes

In relation to customer data, the merchant acts as the Data Controller and Cubic acts solely as a Data Processor pursuant to Article 28 GDPR and Shopify's API Terms.

3. Purpose and Legal Basis of Processing

  • Providing 3D model generation services (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR)
  • Managing in-app credits and billing events
  • Fraud prevention and prevention of credit abuse (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR)
  • Compliance with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR)

Product images are processed solely to provide the requested service. We do not use merchant or customer data for advertising, resale, profiling, or cross-merchant AI training.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

4.1 During Active Installation

Merchant data is retained only for as long as necessary to operate and maintain the application.

4.2 Upon App Uninstallation

  • All product images and generated 3D models are permanently deleted.
  • All merchant personal and operational data is deleted.
  • The shop URL is retained.
  • In-app transaction and credit records remain linked to the shop URL.

The retention of the shop URL and in-app credit history is strictly limited to dispute resolution, restoration of credits in case of billing or technical errors, fraud prevention, and preventing abuse of promotional credit systems.
